What is Project Pragya?
Pragya is a very ambitious and long-term endeavor to produce well-researched storybooks on Indian history and heroes. The idea is to decolonize Indian history and to make it accessible to all kinds of audiences, especially the children.
What will be the format of these storybooks?
The books will be made available in both physical and digital formats. Apart from the simple and engaging text, top-class original artwork will be used to make these storybooks captivating.
Language of the storybooks?
At first, storybooks will be released in English and Hindi. And as the demand grows, they will be published in all major Indian languages.
effort involved?
The project will require a huge effort. We will set up a team of researchers, scriptwriters, and illustrators (artists).
What kind of volume we are talking about?
In the first year, we are aiming for 20 storybooks. After that, we can scale up to 100 storybooks per year. The goal is 400-500 storybooks in the next 5 years.
