At The News Minute, we have always believed in our mission to provide you with accurate, reliable, and comprehensive news coverage from south India. At present, we want to focus on one news event outside the south — a new reporting project that holds great significance in shedding light on a region that has been affected by violence and conflict for far too long: Manipur.
Our dedicated reporters, Prajwal Bhat and Haritha John, are travelling to Manipur, where ethnic violence between the Meitei and Kuki people has been ongoing for several months. As of July 31, at least 181 people have been killed in the violence, and more than 300 wounded. Approximately 54,488 people have been displaced from their homes. The government, meanwhile, has neither taken accountability nor has it been successful in controlling the situation.
Through this reporting project, we want to:
- Provide you with exclusive, in-depth ground reports that delve into the heart of the matter, highlighting the real issues underlying the current conflict.
- To create awareness and understanding among our audience about the complexities and intricacies of this region.
We will keep you updated on this reporting project, from the preparations to the journey itself, and the compelling stories that unfold along the way.
