Dr. A. Shanker for whom astrology is a passion has guided people across the globe in this sphere of knowledge for over 30 years. His father, (late) Sh. Kailash Chander was a senior bureaucrat who had devoted himself to an in-depth study of Astrology. Scholars like Sh. K. N. Rao and P. S. Iyer etc. were amazed at his predictions and talked highly of him. Dr. Shanker grew within the company of such people and also completed a course in astrology (jyotishacharya) from Varanashi. Now 65, Dr. Shanker, supported by his family, has established a small ashram to help the poor and the needy at Vrindavan. Any donations and fees received are spent for charity works taken up at the Ashram.

Money will be used for the welfare of the Village Sunrak and Shri Krishna Pravaha Ashram in Vrindavan.
