Cause
Chikitsa has been providing community-based primary healthcare (both consultations and medicines are free) in underserved areas of Delhi-NCR since 1999.
Chikitsa was active in mitigating the negative health and financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, during the first wave, distributing dry food ration and healthcare kits to those in need. During April-December 2020, Chikitsa’s free dry food rations reached 50,000+ needy beneficiaries.
Funds raised by Chikitsa will help those in need during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic through free distribution of food, medicines, masks, provision of oxygen supplies, training of community health workers, and supporting frontline health workers and patients. Chikitsa will also support local communities to overcome vaccine hesitancy, and enable the illiterate, elderly and differently abled, to get vaccinated.
